Graham, Howard and I are going to the singles event this month.

Is anyone interested in a 4 man team event?

Will feedback on the singles event first.

I'd definitely be interested in the team event. Would be great to give something like that a go.

Yeah, I would be interested, but will have to see how the singles goes first.

Do want to get to a few team things some time, but i'm not sure i'm at that stage yet, especially given how $hite i am with these stumpy little buggers at the moment.

I'm up for a team event, the Giant's Lair one we did last year was great fun.

Half tempted but would be good to hear how the singles went first - guess it depends on interest!

Tickets for this go on sale this weekend. We will be able to purchase then from lunchtime at the event.

If we have enough interest would the club be able to purchase 2 tickets for 2 teams to go in March? Then can offer them out to the club and people could buy them back.

Cost neutral to the club in the end but prevents a lot of money going out from someone's account.

Of course this is dependent on the event this weekend, but such a system could work for other team tournaments in the future?

Agree with this concept, what price are the team tickets? (can't get to their site at the moment here)

Ummmmm, are you asking for £220 in cash by the weekend Tom? Im fine with the principle as long as all the tickets go

Rob hit on the problem here is that although it is cost neutral, it's a large initial outlay.

I'm thinking not in this case as it's quite short notice and we will have had one game at th point they go on sale. Maybe it's something to table at the agm.

We can discuss it at the AGM.

If the weekend goes well and you guys come back with nothing but praise for the event then we will look into sorting something similar anyway as people are more likely to know if they will want to do it by then.

Also how likely is it that all the team tickets will go by the end of the weekend?

Dunno if there are any tickets left, but based on my experiences of the singles event, I would be up for giving this a go!

The event was well run I thought and I had 6 good fun games! Empire got a bit screwed by the comp pack but I think that made no difference to my games... None of them were even close enough for it to come into effect! The venue its self is okay, in all honesty the toilets were pretty disgusting and the food wasn't awesome but the tables and terrain were good. Also couldn't be easier to wander over there from the premier inn...

Grum, Tom, what are your thoughts and feedback from the event? It seems like the car journey up and back was a bit tough?

To be honest, I'm not really all that fussed about going back up there. Was a bit of a ball ache to get to from here. I know that Tom was feeling pretty ill on Sunday and it hit me fully a couple of days later too. I'm not saying that was directly a cause of the food or minging toilets, but I'm pretty sure neither of them helped!

If Andi is going to be running team events over at BIG, I'll find it very hard to justify the trip up north.

I have to agree with Graham. I had 6 great opponents, and despite the heavily biased comp pack (damn daemons) the games were very good and would recommend the comp pack for tournaments.

However, the journey was awful. Getting their the traffic was bad and it took 5 hours. Getting back I was properly hanging, and had to have to the day off. It could have been anything but the cleanliness and the food was not really up to much.

Really happy that BIG is much closer and would be up for going to team events there

Tom asked Andi @ BIG about team events while we were there playing our 8.3k High Elf/Dark Elf game. They're planning to run both 4 and 8 team man events at some point in the year, so we can keep an eye out for it.
