Although I do agree Grum, if the slann is also the BSB his army will break if the saurus die. Not really sure what you can do about that though. Don't forget that there are scenarios: so the castle might not necessarily work every time.

Outside of the temple guard and slaan, there is only the saurus banner and potentially the bsb. If you are thinking about blood and glory, the unit is the game whether the slaan is the bsb or not.

I would have to agree with Grum here. In b&g the saris could just chill out in the back avoiding any threats. Not much stuff can easily kill 38 saurus in ranks of 5 unless you get them into a silly position. Just don't miscast the slann. Corner hammer will help pete get a draw in that scenario for his team.

I think I will move the BSB to the Slann. As commented already, it doesn't change much in terms of B&G, but will give me a little more flexibility in using the Scar-vets, as I won't potentially loose my BSB by charging out.

General is farting around on the Pegasus... Could probably squeeze some points together to put the standard on the greatswords and use the BSB+1 Ld for tests.

Anyone know how standard of discipline / bsb / stubborn-ness of greatswords combines? Is there some odd FAQ that is going to screw me over (that I obviously have no idea about!)

I think it'll be fine Howard. So they'd be stubborn ld9 with a re-roll.

Nothing in the ETC FAQs about it.

Does anyone have an opinion on taking lore of Life with the Slann?
I think High magic is a good alternative, as I can swap out spells as I cast them to suit the opponent.

I think life is the best bet if you're in temple guard. Purely for throne of vines...

High is good Pete - could even be a cheeky way of getting some death snipes! Life is also a solid choice, but with ETC protection from dwellers, there isn't really any threat from it.

Ben, +1 movement is probably overkill, but the flaming banner could really help you out in some matchups. Be careful though - with ETC, you will have seen all the lists beforehand, so look out for flaming wards...

What peer pressure!?! Notice I didn't say anything when you offered me a turn 2 charge into your 1000 point dancey mage bunker of squishiness...

But yeah flaming is probably worth it for that chimera or what have you. If it has a 2++ against flaming they're screwed anyway probably.

Usually things with a 2++ ward against flaming have high armour save anyway and take it as protection against metal. You do need anti regeneration in case of crypt horror or troll units I always struggle to take them down.

Revised list

Battle Wizard Lord -(Lore of Heavens) Level 4 and Dispel Scroll = 225
Empire General - Full Plate, Shield, Talisman of Preservation, Ogre Blade and Pegasus = 234

Empire Captain - Full Plate, Enchanted Shield, Dawnstone, Battle Standard = 121
Empire Captain - Full Plate, Great Weapon = 72
Empire Captain - Full Plate, Shield = 68
Master Engineer = 65

30 Swordsmen - Full command = 240
15 Militia detachment = 90
30 Spearmen - Full command = 180
15 Militia detachment = 90

28 Greatsword - Full Command, Standard of Discipline = 353
Great Cannon = 120
6 Reiksguard - Standard (OR musician) = 172

Steam Tank = 250
Hellblaster = 120

Lords = 459 = 19%
Heroes = 326 = 13%
Core = 600 = 25%
Special = 645 = 27%
Rare = 370 = 15%

TOTAL = 2400

So I've messed about with the equipment on my heroes and dropped either a Standard or Musician from the Reiksguard knights in order to pick up the Standard of Discipline for the Greatswords.

I dunno which is better to lose tbh. Keeping the musician helps them manoeuvre into the right position to act as a bit of a road-blocker. But on the other hand the Standard will help them out more once they are blocking. Thinking about with them being stubborn, +1 CR is a bit pointless unless they win a combat, which seems unlikely.

Opinions and thoughts please...

I think the musician is more useful:
- Helps with drawn combats, which may happen and would be annoying to lose because you didn't have 1.
- If you lose a combat, then you don't lose a model provided you make it away.
- Also, makes it easier to rally.

Since they are a good unit for blocking, I think it is important that you get them into the right place. The musician will help you more with that than the standard will. I don't really think you need the extra standard for B&G either.

Hey everyone as I'm sure you're all aware lists are due for Monday at midnight, which really means Sunday night. Can my team please confirm that the latest list on the thread is the one they're going to be using or indeed post their final list with any modifications. Just make it clear which version you would like to use. Cheers guys.
