Getting old, getting ancient (historic gaming interest)

Postby Duke_of_Krondor » Thu Jul 02, 2015 1:11 pm

Afternoon all

So, with Fantasy currently in the crysylis of evolution I thought I'd look at some other systems whilst things settle down. One of these is Bolt Action (which I've got a small force of USMC for), which I demomonstrated at the Demo Night. Other than that, I'd be more interested in getting into something ancient. More specifically I've got the rules for Hail Ceasar (by Rick Priestly) and De Belis Antiquitatis (DBA for short). I also have 2 6mm armies (cheaper and less storage) in the form of some republican romans and some celts.

The question is, would anyone want to join me in trying out these games, considering I can provide a second army for use, and in the long term does anyone think they'd be interested in playing more of anything historic?

Cheers all

I'm interested in giving Bolt action a go. I have some West Wind Weird War US which I'm sure would suffice for it, yes some have gas masks but beyond that its normal and I have a couple of half tracks and a Tank destroyer as well.

We also as a club get a nice discount from Warlord, so something for people to keep in mind.

got bolt action soviets as well as some 15mm hail ceasar and a load of different Napoleonic period games would welcome playing something a bit historical.

Awesome, thanks guys. I'll try and get my stuff finished and assembled so there can be some battles of the past!
